When Celebrity Cruises' new Celebrity Silhouette debuts later this month, she'll offer a number of tweaks on the design of her Solstice-class predecessors, Celebrity Solstice, Equinox, and Eclipse — among them, the cruise business's first interactive, open-air grill restaurant, the Lawn Club Grill. Taking the place of the Hot Glass Studio that's featured aboard the other three Solstice ships, the new 58-seat grill will offer guests the opportunity to serve as their party's "Grill Master," preparing the menu for their table on the restaurant's grills, with the help of one of Celebrity's chefs. At the end of the meal, they even get a chef's apron as a memento. Designed to evoke a backyard barbecue, the grill looks out over the Lawn Club's wide grass lawn, with the sea all around. Though protected by glass windscreens and a glass roof, the venue is very much an outdoor space, with teak furnishings, fieldstone flooring, hanging lanterns, and colorful place settings for a fun, casual ambience. In addition to grilling their meats, guests can also graze at a salad bar, create their own pizzas from a menu of option, and order fun drinks like beer buckets and pitchers of sangria. The Lawn Club Grill will be open 5–10 pm nightly and from 12–2pm on one sea day per cruise. A reservation fee of $30 per person is required, and reservations can be made onboard or online, before your cruise.Rendering of the Lawn Club Grill courtesy of Celebrity Cruises |
